The northern region of Clayoquot Sound is considered the most inaccessible, with access only by watercraft or floatplane. The northern region is dominated by Flores Island, noted for its spectacular sandy beaches, oldgrowth rainforests and wildlife. North of Flores Island is Hotsprings Cove, site of thermal hotsprings(120 degrees) that pour over a 12ft waterfall before cascading into the ocean. The Hesquiat Peninsula further north is known for its spectacular coastal hiking, isolated beaches, marine life and the most unique lighthouse along the westcoast of British Columbia. Further inland one can explore the wondrous sights of fjord like Sydney Inlet with its exceptional steep cliffs rising vertically from the waters edge.
