Kyuquot Sound is filled with abandoned villages and native burial caves, giant cedars and sitka spruce besides sea lion rookeries, sea otter colonies and vast quantities of sea birds. The Brooks Peninsula is the most predominant feature within the area protruding approximately 10 km out into the Pacific. This peninsula having missed the last glaciation is home to a variety of unique flora and fauna and stands as a testament to the enduring quality of the area. Rugged Point is another popular destination to the south of Kyuquot Village and a Provincial Marine Park noted for its exquisite sandy beaches on both sides of the point and spectacular beach combing.
