| About Palm Palm Equipment has been designing and manufacturing functional "Gear
for Paddlers and Boaters" for over 20 years. By focusing our expertise on paddle
sports and boating, by knowing our customers and water they adventure out on, we are able to
create and market the highest quality products suited to the most demanding
users. During that time Palm's team of world-class boaters has pushed
their own limits and the limits of Palm Equipment further and further. Because
of this our customers can breath easy, safe in the knowledge that if these
users' can't break it, neither can you.
We really do develop and torture-test our fabrics, in the lab and out
on the water, testing for delaminating, seam integrity, abrasion, and comfort.
We use the best components; our latex seals are the best in the world
and sized for each application, our dry suit zippers are second to none,
we specify the highest quality neoprene, and we use Dupont Cordura®
reinforcing patches in all high wear areas.
Mobility Cut means that we tailor each garment for the intended use,
applying our 20 years of experience by factoring in an insulating layer
when we design the pattern, incorporating pre-bent elbows, extra roomy shoulders,
and tapered stretch waists for minimal bulk. The results are products that
fit properly and doesn't interfere with your activity.
Frankly, we feel that we build and sell some the very best gear you
can buy.

Shown is size 10 foot which fit comfortably in the medium bootie with room for a medium
weight sock. The Large booties fit loose with plenty of room. The Xlarge bootie
was very roomy and would require pulling the bootie up around the ankle to fit
in my shoe.
Dry Suit Bootie Options
Your drysuit comes standard with the bootie size listed in the size chart.
To change your booties size you will need to send the drysuit to Rainypass.com
for a bootie upgrade. Please
allow 2-3 weeks for this change. Currently Palm does not allow bootie changes in
their suit (i.e they all come shipped to us as outlined in the size chart).
Palm DrySuit Features
Single Tunnel Waist System
- The outer neoprene skirt's single adjustment point waist cord draws
evenly around the waist and combines with the gripper rubber to produce
an effective seal against sprayskirt tube when required and ventilation
when the seal is not needed
Waterproof Zippers
- The waterproof zipper is the most important single feature of a dry
suit because it determines the ease of entry as well as immersion protection.
Palm uses the best paddlesport dry suit zip in the world.
- The polyurethane fabric and nickel silver teeth give the strongest
and most waterproof method of fastening a dry suit.
- The Rear entry on the Stikine reduces bulk, does not interfere with range of motion,
and is much easier to step into and put on.
- By passing across and behind the shoulders instead of over the shoulder
the zipper doesn't chafe or create a conduit for water by extending into
the skirt tunnel.
- The Stikine also features a relief zip that is identical to the entry
zip just shorter. After extensive testing with men and women, Palm determined
that the horizontal position offered the best compromise between functionality
and comfort.
Seamless crotch
- Eliminates a vulnerable seam and wear point.
- Reduces bulk and discomfort when seated.
- Allows unrestricted movement.
Seam Construction
- Quality waterproof seams are the hallmark of the very best products;
- All seams are fully taped and tested to give total waterproof protection.
- Seams are designed to fall outside of high abrasion areas for long
life and comfort.
- The seams are stitched with threads that are nylon bonded when joining
neoprene to fabric
- The seams are stitched with polyester threads when joining fabric to
fabric.
- All seams are "suter tested" to assure waterproof construction
Latex Seals System
- We use the finest natural rubber latex seals for the most effective
method of stopping water entry.
- All Latex Seals are protected by over-cuffs constructed with neoprene
and nylon to prevent abrasion, UV degradation, and high velocity water entry.
- Latex Seals are designed and sized for specific areas; neck, bicep,
and wrist.
- All Latex Seals are specially prepared, stitched into the fabric then
seam taped for a very strong, watertight seal. Much more durable than glued
seals.
- Latex Neck Seals are trim-able for best fit.
Articulated Sleeve Design
- Allows full and unrestricted movement and places the seams away from
high exposure areas, making for a more durable, waterproof garment.
Waist Cord
- The waist cord provides the most effective way of cinching a waist
tunnel reducing water entry and ride up.
- Easy single adjustment point draws evenly around the waist
- Cordura reinforced draw cord eyelet assures longevity.
Reflective Components
- Reflective logo and piping on the sleeves allows for increased visibility
on the water.
- Front Mesh Pouch
- Suitable for holding waterproof items.
- Key clip on the inside.
Reinforced Patches
- High abrasion areas are reinforced with our strongest fabric, DuPont
Cordura®;
- Elbows: from the tricep to the under part of the forearm ending at
the over-cuff.
- Knees: starting at mid-thigh and extending down over the knee to the
ankle over-cuff.
- Seat: each side from the lower back to the back of the mid-thigh
Fabrics
XP200 - breathable 4-Ply Laminate
Face Fabric: Mini-ripstop Tactel nylon (115g/m2)
Membrane: Porelle microporous polyurethane (30micron)
Backing Fabric: Tricot locknit polyester (50g/m2)
Lamination Method: 'Hot Dot' adhesive matrix (11% screen)
Special Finishes: water repellent fluorocarbon coating on the face fabric
Watertightness H2O: >20,000mm hydrostatic head
Breathability: Moisture vapor permeability = 5000g/m2/24hrs
The XP200 Advantage:
At Palm, we utilize the highest quality materials in the
production of our XP200 4-Ply fabric. We choose a face fabric with the
best combination of strength and wear comfort, a membrane with the highest
level of breathability, and resilience, and the softest knitted lining for
great moisture dispersal. We ad a water and a stain repellent to the face
fabric, which helps to keep water and contaminates from penetrating the
face fabric.
XP200 utilizes a 'hot dot' lamination process. The adhesive
is laid down as a series of small dots that bond the layers together. Palm
specifies an 11% matrix resulting in 89% of the membrane left untouched.
The advantages of this are two-fold; any water penetrating the face fabric
has space to move around between the face fabric and the membrane, reducing
the water buildup that can cause delaminating in normal off-the-shelf 3-ply
fabrics. The water drains between the layers more quickly when hung to
dry, enabling it to dry completely. Also, the breathability of XP200 is
better than many other 3-ply fabrics because of the lower adhesive content
between the layers.
It is the unique fusion of materials and construction process
that makes XP200 the most effective 4-ply fabric available tailored specifically
to perform in the harshest conditions.
XP150 - breathable 3-Ply Laminate
Face Fabric: Nylon 6.6 mini ripstop
Coating: microporous polyurethane (50g/m2)
Backing Fabric: locknit polyester (40g/m2)
Lamination Method: polyurethane adhesive
Special Finishes: water repellent fluorocarbon coating on the face fabric
Watertightness H2O: >15,000mm hydrostatic head
Breathability: moisture vapor permeability = 4000g/m2/24hrs
The XP150 Advantage:
XP150 is our lighter weight 3-ply fabric. It is a 'hybrid' laminate.
This means that it is a combination of coated face fabric laminated to a
knit liner.
The face fabric is lightweight yet strong with a tight weave to encourage
water to bead and roll off this increases breatability. The face fabric
is coated with a microporous polyurethane that provides high waterproofness
and breathability. A high quality lightweight knitted liner is then laminated
to the coating protecting it and helping to disperse moisture on the inside
of the fabric helping the fabric to breathe.
Because the knit liner is there for protection against abrasion, the
coating is thinner increasing breathability and further reducing the weight
of the fabric.
XP150 is the number one choice as a lightweight, hard wearing, and hard
working 3-ply. It's superior breathability and durability combined with
a light and comfortable feel gives you the edge when faced with physically
demanding situations.
Most Palm clothing will come into contact with normal water
pollutants during its life. Certain precautions should be taken
to extend the life of your gear. Product
Care
After every Use
- Hand wash with mild soap in cold water.
- You should hang dry and store your Palm gear out of
direct sunlight, because UV light breaks down latex seals.
- Store your dry suit with the zipper colsed to eliminate
and chance of bending or breaking the zipper.
Perform regularly
- To keep your latex seals in good condition, regularly
apply a silicone-based rubber conditioner.
- After continual use your Palm gear will remain
completely waterproof, yet may feel saturated and heavy. If
necessary, acquire a reproofing fabric conditioner from your
reputable outdoor retailer.
Palm does not recommend tumble drying paddle gear with latex
seals.
Warranty
All products manufactured and sold by Palm equipment USA are
fully guaranteed for the original purchase against defects in
material and workmanship. If a product is found to be defective
before or during use, due to a manufacturing failure, Palm will
repair or replace it at their discretion.
This guarantee does not cover wear and tear, only workmanship
and materials. Due to the vulnerability of latex neck, wrist,
and ankle seals, they carry no guarantee once the garment has
been worn.
